Tajani: “We need everyone's creative contribution to create an international event that represents a new beginning for the city”    

Milan, May 23 2021 - Milan looking for ideas, projects and installations between innovation, design and creativity to enhance and relaunch the next Milan Design Week. After a year of stoppage due to the pandemic, the city finds again the event dedicated to design and creation, which has always been the main moment of international and national discussion on design themes.  

In the next few days, and until 31 July, it will be possible to present to the Administration proposals and ideas for exhibitions, artistic installations, workshops, debates and insights, information, awareness-raising and networking actions to give rise to the "Milan Design Week" calendar in program from 4 to 10 September.  

"In line with the times and measures adopted by the Draghi Government, for the restart of fairs and events - explains the councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities, Commerce, Fashion and Design Cristina Tajani -, we intend to give our contribution to support and enhance associations, businesses and the many professionals in the sector to consolidate Milan as the world capital of design and creativity, as well as allowing the city to rediscover its international role and an opportunity from which to start again. This is why the contribution of ideas is fundamental , proposals and projects that will make up a schedule of activities and initiatives in the Milan area in full compliance with the anti-covid regulations that allow the economic restart in balance between creativity, economy and health protection".     

Until 31 July it will be possible to submit proposals for projects and initiatives in line with the themes promoted by the Administration in recent years: the development of "design culture", understood as a culture of design and thought; the circular economy; sustainability and technological innovation as well as the re-design of public spaces and new urban mobility aimed at design. Proposals may be submitted by private businesses and companies, including in associated form, associations, foundations as well as public and private entities.     

The subjects who will become part of the schedule of the "Milan Design Week" will be able to obtain the concession of the event's brand as well as be an integral part of the communication and promotion activity of the event through institutional and promotional channels. YesMilan.  

The extraordinary nature of the September edition will also allow the events included in the "Milan Design Week" program to be part of the "Bella Estate" summer schedule, a program of cultural events that will take place in the city throughout the summer.
