State property. Public notice for 25 disused municipal assets

The census process of properties and state-owned areas has been completed. Tasca: "A long and complex job, now the regeneration of many spaces in the city begins"

Milan, June 5 2020 - The path of economic and socio-cultural valorization of the abandoned heritage of the Municipality continues. The Council approved the resolution in which 25 disused assets are identified - areas and properties owned by the municipality that are no longer used - which will be the subject of a public interest notice.

"We have reached the completion of important and significant work, which lasted some time, which saw wide participation, first from the State Property offices and then from the other bodies of the Administration, which I thank for the effectiveness demonstrated - states the councilor to the State Property Office, Roberto Tasca - for too many years the Municipality has had to give up on valorising the abandoned assets scattered around the city. Now, with the guidelines approved by the Council and the subsequent tender, we can begin to recover them by opening them up to private interest. We are confident in the possible regeneration of places that have remained without identity for a long time."

The work of the Administration led to a timely census of the heritage, to its subsequent mapping and to an in-depth study on the topic by the municipal council and the municipal presidents.

The census activity initially identified 61 properties, now disused, and a further selection was carried out. The choice was made on the basis of possible valorization strategies and took into account, in addition to the results of the census and the destinations of the PGT recently approved by the Municipality of Milan, also the projects already started or about to be developed by the municipal administration .

The approved guidelines provide for the publication of a public notice for the collection of expressions of interest from private individuals. This is exclusively an act with a consultative function, preliminary to the possible activation of subsequent public procedures.

The possible methods and strategies for valorising and redeveloping the heritage can include various paths. Alienation, the granting of surface rights, the possibility of resorting to the institution of sponsorship contracts (relating to public works carried out at private expense) or forms of public-private partnership, including project financing and horizontal subsidiarity interventions.
