Culture. Meeting of culture councilors with Minister Franceschini: support for all workers, for micro and small cultural businesses, start of a table for rebirth, new tax relief measures for donations

Milan, March 31 2020 – Establish a discussion table for the management of the crisis and immediately start a discussion on the relaunch and reconstruction strategy involving the Minister, leaders of the technical structure and councilors of the municipalities; extend the possibility of sponsorships and tax-free donations under the Art bonus regime to the widest possible number of cultural initiatives and investments; study methods to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, cooperatives and cultural associations; make proposals to the Minister for the allocation of the extraordinary fund of 130 million euros already established by MiBACT and included in the recent Prime Ministerial Decree to support all business or cultural professional categories; ensure measures to support the income of atypical and intermittent workers as well. These are some of the requests made to the Minister of Cultural Heritage Dario Franceschini by the councilors for culture Luca Bergamo (Rome), Eleonora De Majo (Naples), Filippo Del Corno (Milan), Barbara Grosso (Genoa), Francesca Leon (Turin), Paola Piroddi (Cagliari) and Tommaso Sacchi (Florence), representing the twelve promoters of the appeal to request the state of crisis of the sector and specific support measures.

The councilors met Minister Franceschini via videoconference together with the leaders of the technical-legal structure of the MiBACT.

The meeting was agreed with the Minister following the letter sent by the 12 councilors - in addition to those already mentioned also Adham Darawsha (Palermo), Matteo Lepore (Bologna), Paola Mar (Venice), Paolo Marasca (Ancona), Ines Pierucci (Bari) - they wrote in recent days to ask for a direct discussion for the study and formulation of extraordinary measures to support the many cultural businesses affected by the crisis resulting from the CoViD-19 pandemic.

Establishing a clear and constructive dialogue in this very delicate historical phase is an absolute priority for our cities and our departments. Together with the urgent funds Cure città , legitimately requested by our mayors, we believe it is important to study together with the Minister Cultural Care initiatives and economic measures that can represent a real possibility of survival and restart of the many cultural enterprises, a fundamental economic driving force of our country".
