Milan, May 10 2023 – Milan pays homage to the master Bruno Fael, a Friulian artist deeply linked to the Ambrosian city. The sculpture "Il Pedone" was inaugurated today in Piazza Vesuvio, the result of the bond between Fael and Milan. It is a three-meter-high work in oxidized Corten steel, the result of the artist's interior meditation: a creative journey generated by the sensations and emotions perceived by Fael while walking through the streets of the city neighborhoods.

With this sculpture, Milan celebrates the artist born in Sacile (PN) in 1935. From 1972 until his death on 26 October 2015, Fael was a protagonist of the artistic and cultural life of the city. His studio in via Porpora became a meeting point for artists, intellectuals and collectors. Active until the last period of his life, he was also a protagonist of the 2015 Milan Universal Exhibition, exhibiting the pictorial cycle "Feeding the planet, energy for life" in Piazza Duomo at the World Expo Commissioner Club, dedicated to all the nations and peoples of the Earth.

“Il Pedone”, a work donated by the artist's family to the city, intends to convey a message of joy, serenity and well-being to the viewer. “Through my daily way of life – recalled Faes – I build within myself images derived from sensations, at a given moment, in a given place”.

The inauguration, which took place today in Piazza Vesuvio, was attended by the Councilor for Culture Tommaso Sacchi and the Councilor for Housing and Neighborhood Planning Pierfrancesco Maran.
