Milan, 1 July 2022 – The gardens in Piazza Sei February, in Municipality 8, will bear the name of Harvey Milk, American politician and historic militant of the LGBT+ movement. The first openly gay member of US institutions, Milk was assassinated in 1978 inside San Francisco City Hall together with the mayor, George Moscone, by former city councilor Dan White.

From today Milan will remember him with a plaque unveiled this afternoon by the Councilor for Culture, Tommaso Sacchi who, together with the President of Municipality 8, Giulia Pelucchi, participated in the ceremony, one of the events organized by the Municipality of Milan for Pride week.

The naming of the gardens in Piazza Sei February took place on the proposal of the Sentinelli of Milan, present today with the President, Luca Paladini. Together with them the President of the CIG Arcigay Milano, Fabio Pellegatta, the honorary President of the Milk Milano cultural center, Nathan Bonnì and the activist and actress Annagaia Marchioro.
