Culture. Festival of girls and boys, the call for proposals is open
Proposals can be submitted until May 10th, the theme of this edition being ''One city, many names''
Milan, 28 April 2024 - A large Castle and all around the neighborhoods of a city that becomes the most beautiful and loved by its little inhabitants. From 24 to 27 May, Milan will experience the second edition of the Festival of Girls and Boys, a program of cultural and recreational initiatives for children aged 3 to 12, which aims to involve all the neighborhoods of the city.
For the creation of the schedule, the Municipality has published a call for tenders, which will remain open until Friday 10 May, to allow the presentation of the greatest number of proposals. This year's theme is "One city, many names" inspired by the "Right of every child to have a name", chosen to celebrate the week that will begin on May 27, the day of Italy's ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of girls and boys.
The intent of this edition of the Festival is to give voice to all the well-known and lesser-known stories that gave rise to the city, in all nine municipalities and especially in those neighborhoods where social and economic inequalities are more marked and educational poverty is still present. The beating heart of all the initiatives will be the Sforzesco Castle which, with the title "One castle, many names", will offer games and workshops dedicated to men and women, characters, professions and stories of its long history.
The notice to present the proposals, published on the Municipality's website to link, is aimed at companies, associations, cooperatives, institutions, public and private bodies and other cultural entities, profit and non-profit, operating in the city area. The proposed initiatives must not be of a commercial nature and must be interdisciplinary and inclusive, with particular attention to people with social fragility and disabilities. For paid initiatives, the ticket must not exceed 10 euros and include discounts for families and groups.
