The opening hours of all civic museums are uniform, from 11am to 18pm, with time slots of half an hour each. For each time slot, contingents of visitors have been identified commensurate with the number and size of the rooms. In particular, for every half hour the following are allowed (always by reservation):

  • Magenta Archaeological Museum + Via Nirone Museum: 15 visitors;
  • Palazzo Morando - costume fashion image: 5 visitors;
  • Risorgimento Museum: 5 visitors;
  • Museum of the Twentieth Century: 10 visitors;
  • GAM - Modern Art Gallery: 5 visitors;
  • Natural History Museum: 10 visitors;
  • Boschi - Di Stefano house museum: 3 visitors;
  • MUDEC - Museum of Cultures: 5 visitors;
  • Francesco Messina museum studio: 5 visitors;
  • Civic Aquarium: 15 visitors.

The number of each slot for each museum is calculated by evaluating the physical safety distance in the smallest room of the museum route, also taking into consideration the shape of the route itself. Visitors must enter wearing masks and will follow a one-way path inside each museum. Hand sanitizer dispensers will be positioned at the entrance and near the services. The cloakroom service is not active.

Sormani and 26 civic libraries will also open from Tuesday 8 May: Affori, Baggio (piazza Stovani), Chiesa Rossa, Gallaratese, Niguarda, Oglio, Tibaldi, Valvassori Peroni. Further information on timetables and services is available on the site https://milano.biblioteche.it/servizi/fase2/.

The reopening of Palazzo Reale has been confirmed from 28 May, from Thursday to Sunday, from 11am to 19pm. Also for exhibitions, entrances are limited based on the capacity of the rooms with mandatory reservations for time slots and purchase of tickets online on the websites of the various exhibitions.
