Milan, August 8 2020 - “Despite the reduced economic perimeter allowed by the municipal budget following the health emergency, and in addition to the already awarded to the city's cultural operators of the 2 million euros of the 'Culture Plan' coming from the Mutual Aid Fund of the Municipality of Milan, this year too - declares the councilor for Culture Filippo Del Corno - the Administration ensures that companies operating in our city have the possibility of receiving support for their entertainment activities thanks to two notices, already public, which allow access to contributions to support the vitality of the Milanese cultural fabric".   
 
Thanks to the first notice, which expires on 1 September, subjects - institutions, associations, temporary purpose associations, companies, organisations, social enterprises, public and private bodies, foundations - which carry out continuous entertainment activities on the territory of the city of Milan, whose activity has a substitutive, integrative or complementary nature to that of the Municipal Administration. The allocation of 600 thousand euros is therefore mainly intended, in such a particular year for the sector due to the measures to contain the health emergency, to maintain and guarantee the continuity of its presence at the musical and theatrical seasons, at theater festivals for children and to the dance seasons regularly scheduled at city theatres, halls and auditoriums; presence that wants to be maintained and guaranteed also for forms of research and experimentation, for proposals that favor social aggregation and contribute to the regeneration process of disadvantaged urban areas, for actions aimed at overcoming cultural barriers and intercultural dialogue.  
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to operate with continuity compared to what has been carried out in previous years, and guarantee the continuation of the activity also for the year 2021. 
 
The second notice provides that, by 15 September, entities which mainly or exclusively carry out entertainment activities at a professional level can submit an application for contributions to support initiatives, projects and cultural events in the theatrical, musical, cinematographic and multidisciplinary, which take place - or have already taken place - in the city of Milan during the year 2020. The allocation of 875 thousand euros in the municipal budget is therefore intended to support the expenses incurred for the organization of festivals, exhibitions, events and demonstrations , which this year, given the limitations imposed by the measures to combat the pandemic, provide for unusual methods of implementation and necessary remodulations in programming. 
 
Individuals who receive a contribution relating to the implementation of a continuous activity in the year 2020 will not be able to receive a contribution pursuant to the notice for entertainment projects relating to the same year, and vice versa. For both notices, however, subjects who have participated (or are recipients of contributions) in the context of the public notice "Granting of contributions to subjects active in the field of production, dissemination and diffusion" will also be able to validly submit a contribution request. culture that have suffered serious economic consequences due to the COVID-19 health emergency" in the year 2020 (Culture Plan - Mutual Aid Fund).
