The Administration has reviewed and adjusted the parameters for the provision of support in favor of the affiliated theater system, hit hard by the measures to combat the pandemic 

Milan, July 30 2021 - The system of theater agreements envisaged by the guidelines for the three-year period 2019-2021, approved by the Council in 2019, is based on the measurement of objective parameters achieved by the theaters in the year preceding the year of competence for the disbursement of the contribution and on a qualitative evaluation of the activities carried out, formulated by a commission of experts. 

Due to the pandemic emergency, since February 2020, the services opening to the public of cultural institutes and places have been suspended throughout the national territory, as well as shows of any nature, including theatrical ones, which have only been able to reopen for a short time. , with a limited audience, in summer and part of autumn.  

The Council has therefore approved some changes to the 2019 resolution, changing the evaluation criteria in order to confirm 75-80% (depending on the type of theatre) of the value of the contribution foreseen in the previous year, and assign only the remaining 25- 20% based on the activity actually carried out in the few months of 2020 in which it was possible to carry it out, based on the evaluation of the Commission of experts formulated following a report presented by the theaters themselves.   

Furthermore, given the persistence of the pandemic emergency which has severely limited, or even eliminated, the possibility of carrying out theatrical activities in the first half of 2021, the change in the evaluation methods introduced for contributions to the System will also remain valid for the year 2022 .  

In this way, we want to guarantee the overall stability of the city's theatrical production fabric, which is in great difficulty, and ensure that Milan, once the emergency has passed, has the excellent and varied entertainment offering of which the System is a founding part. of the affiliated theatres.  

In addition to the remodulation of the evaluation criteria for the assignment of annual contributions, in fact, since the onset of the pandemic, the Administration has activated specific refreshment, support and relaunch interventions, such as the Culture Plan implemented with the resources of the Fund Mutual aid.
