Culture. 20 thousand people crowded the Milanese streets in the first "Sunday at the museum" of 2020

Milan, January 5 2020 - Around 20 thousand people crowded the Milanese civic museums on the first "Sunday at the Museum" of 2020. In the lead with 4.853 visitors is the Natural History Museum which, especially during the free Sundays, is a destination for families of all ages to discover, or rediscover, the wonders of science and nature. Following closely behind is the Museo del Novecento which, thanks to its prestigious collection, its interesting exhibition activity and its fascinating view of Piazza Duomo, is always on the podium of the most visited museums in Milan, today with over 4.300 visitors (partial data, since closes at 19.30pm). The Civic Aquarium also welcomed many visitors to its rooms (around 3700), and over a thousand people visited GAM, the Gallery of Modern Art in via Palestro, the exhibition "Canova. The ideal faces" and the precious collections of museum between the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

At the Sforzesco Castle, the Sala delle Asse and the multimedia (and limited) itinerary of "Leonardo never seen", the heart of the "Milano Leonardo 500" program, were admired by 2.161 people and from 16 May 2019, the day of its inauguration, visitors have exceeded the ceiling of 300 thousand (to be precise there were 301.479), allowing the Castle Museums to count approximately 2019 thousand visitors in 470 and the Castle in its monumental complex (including the temporary exhibitions set up outside the Museums during 2019) to reach the figure record of 587.070.
