Civic crowdfunding. Fundraising for the sixteen projects opens. Cappello: "Ideas for taking care of neighborhoods"

Projects admitted to financing

Milan, October 23 2022 – There are 16 projects selected by the Municipality of Milan to access civic crowdfunding, innovative ideas and proposals with a view to caring for neighborhoods and "Cities 15 minutes away" which are now open to fundraising by citizens for the next few months.

Civic Crowdfunding is a new way to support social projects and has reached its third edition (overall, with the first two calls, 35 projects were admitted and financed). The first phase of the call made it possible to collect the applications and draw up the ranking of the projects eligible for funding. The time for fundraising now begins, with the publication of the projects on the crowdfunding platform made available by the Municipality, in which citizens will be asked to decide which project to support with a donation. The projects that reach the collection goal will be able to access the non-repayable contribution from the Municipality of Milan.

"Taking care of the neighborhoods and concretely creating a 'city 15 minutes away' through the support of small businesses, commercial activities and projects. This is – explains the councilor for Economic Development Alessia Cappello – the objective I have set myself and which thanks to the work of the municipal managements is taking shape, not only with the Crowdfunding call but with all the other initiatives put in place. Now I hope that citizens, with curiosity and desire to participate, visit the platform and choose a project to support, even with a small donation. The Municipality will do the rest, financing more than half of the project on a non-repayable basis. These are very valid ideas, which are aimed at the community with a particular eye on the most disadvantaged people. I wish each of them success to reach the finish line."

In detail, each selected entity will have 45 days to try to collect 40% of the necessary resources. For its part, the Municipality - thanks to the European resources PON Metro React Eu - will finance the remaining part with non-repayable contributions of up to 48.000 euros.
