Milan, March 18 2021 - Children and families, art and sport, youth work, social inclusion, urban agriculture, crafts and reuse. These are the issues at the center of the last 5 of the 19 projects selected as part of the second edition of Civic Crowdfunding, promoted by the Department of Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce of the Municipality of Milan, co-financed by the European Union within the PON Metro Milano 2014-2020 and created in collaboration with Produzioni dal Basso - the first Italian crowdfunding and social innovation platform - and Ginger Crowdfunding.

The projects, very different from each other, pursue the same objective: to offer Milan and its inhabitants new opportunities to reinvent the city from a more participatory perspective, promoting social inclusion and raising awareness on topics of great social and cultural importance. Furthermore, if the projects reach 40% of the budget established through fundraising, they will be co-financed by the Municipality of Milan for the remaining 60%, up to a maximum of 60 thousand euros.

“Crowdfunding is an extraordinary tool to arouse the protagonism of citizens and involve them in the creation of concrete projects aimed at improving the quality of life of many people in different neighborhoods – comments the councilor for Employment Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce Cristina Tajani -. In this period we are all called to rewrite and live a new sociality made of physical distance which cannot transform into poverty of relationships. And it is precisely on building relationships and solidarity between neighborhood residents, families and citizens that the ideas we have collected work."

The initiative was welcomed with great enthusiasm: in fact, over 3.400 people have chosen to support the Civic Crowdfunding campaigns, for a total of over 277 thousand euros of funds already raised through microdonations which have allowed 11 projects to already reach their goal. collection target.
