Milan, 2 April 2020 – Approximately 150 thousand masks are being distributed in recent days, which the Municipality of Milan received as a gift and has decided to make available, little by little, to all those who carry out fundamental services for citizens.

After the distribution of the 5 KN95 FFP2 equivalent last week, a further supply is being delivered for general practitioners and paediatricians of free choice not only in Milan (1.000), but in the entire metropolitan city (approximately 1.300): yes they are therefore distributing in recent days almost 10 thousand FFP3 masks, in addition to 115.000 surgical masks - with the indication that they be delivered to their patients who need them -, 4.300 liters of sanitizing alcohol and 100.000 gloves for doctors operating in Milan.

“While waiting for the Region to make available the protective devices promised for some time, we are moving forward with the distribution of all the donations that arrive to us – comments Deputy Mayor Anna Scavuzzo – convinced that it is essential to be alongside those who take care of us every day in the area and guarantees the maintenance of fundamental services. Thanks are due to the Municipality employees and the volunteers coordinated by the Municipal Civil Protection who are managing all the preparation of the parcels and the distribution logistics".

In addition to the supplies for doctors, 4.500 surgical masks are being distributed to the first 300 traders who joined the Municipality's georeferenced map, thanks to the help of volunteers from scout groups in the city, 3.500 surgical masks to 305 newsagents and 16.000 surgical masks to 1.600 taxi drivers, which will be delivered by the end of this week.
