Coronavirus. Shopping vouchers, the deadline for requests has been extended until Wednesday 15 April

Milan, 7 April 2020 - The form for requesting vouchers for food shopping will remain online on the Municipality website until 13pm on Wednesday 15 April (from the home page > Milan helps box > Shopping vouchers box). Alternatively, you can contact 020202, from Monday to Saturday between 8am and 20pm: in this case the form will be filled out by telephone with the assistance of a dedicated operator. The chronological order of arrival will in no way constitute priority for the acceptance of applications.

The deadlines for accepting applications have been extended by two days because, due to the high number of requests, there are slowdowns in the online compilation platform. The service provider, at the request of the Administration, is constantly working to reduce inconvenience and allow all users to access the form.

Only one application per family unit may be submitted. Once the terms of the notice have expired, the Municipality will verify the requirements for access and order the applications by compiling the ranking. The total amount currently available amounts to 5 million 848 thousand euros; if further financing becomes available the terms may be reopened.

The amounts of the vouchers amount to 150 euros per month for 2 months for a family of up to three members and 350 euros per month for 2 months for families with more than three members. To activate the service, when completing the application, you can choose between two methods.

One is that of the prepaid card with the Soldo platform, usable in the Mastercard circuit: in this case, once the ranking has been compiled, the beneficiaries of the contribution will be contacted by the municipal offices for delivery of the card.

Or you can opt to use the Satispay smartphone application: in this case the beneficiary will be able to spend the voucher in over 300 food outlets, supermarkets and small merchants who join the circuit, the list of which will be published on the Municipality's website , as well as being visible on the app itself.

Both Soldo and Satispay have offered the availability of their platforms at no cost to the Municipality.

Requirements required
Families residing in Milan, single-income or without income, who live in rent or pay a mortgage for their first home, with current account availability not exceeding 5 thousand euros as of 31 March 2020 and who have a total family income can apply. less than 20 thousand euros (the reference is to 2018 income) or less than 40 thousand euros (again with reference to 2018) if they lost their job due to the emergency after 1 February 2020.

Among the requests received, if they exceed the available allocation, the presence of minor children or elderly people aged 65 or over in the family unit will constitute priority criteria; the presence of people with disabilities in the family; being self-employed with a precarious income; not being beneficiaries of citizenship income or other income support contributions provided by the Municipality of Milan; not having full ownership of other properties (with reference to all members).

Payment methods
The Satispay payment application allows you to activate a real wallet on your smartphone. Already used by over 1 million people, it is an alternative circuit to credit and debit cards, also convenient because it allows you to reduce distribution costs, so as to transfer the entire value of the allocated funds to citizens. Available for all the main operating systems, in this specific case - thanks to the coordination and data management work carried out jointly by the Municipality and Satispay - it can be activated by all the beneficiaries of the shopping voucher simply by downloading the application and logging in directly by entering telephone number and email address. The amount will be uploaded to the application immediately.

The new project launched by Soldo, the fintech company that provides companies and institutions with a platform for managing employee expenses, is called Soldo for the Corona Virus. The company, active since 2015 and now a leader in Italy, makes Soldo cards available at zero fee to all institutions and companies that are managing emergency support activities in this period.

Soldo makes its infrastructure available to provide and manage Mastercard payment cards, which can be customized and controlled in real time. The Municipality, after having activated an account on the platform, will be able to request and create its own cards, loading them with personalized sums, in real time and without costs. Each card will be limited in use by rules defined and assigned from time to time to allow its use only on specific categories of merchants (in this case supermarkets/groceries) freely chosen by families, with spending limits linked to specific periods, and be recharged in real time.
