Coronavirus. Shopping vouchers, the new edition of the announcement is online

Open until July 17th with 1,9 million available. Rabaiotti: “Despite the difficulties that also affect the municipal budget, the council and council continue to help families in difficulty”

Milan, July 3 2020 - It is online on the Municipality website new call for the assignment of vouchersto. Here you can fill out the form for submitting requests, with a few simple questions on personal data and confirmation of access requirements. A support service will also be available for filling in by calling 020202. The public notice will remain open until 12pm on Friday 17 July, and the chronological order of arrival will in no way constitute priority for the acceptance of applications.

Once the deadlines have expired, the Municipality will verify the requirements for access and order the applications with the composition of the ranking. Those who are admitted will receive an explanatory email, which will also contain all the information regarding the actual activation of the vouchers. Their amount will be 250 euros for families of up to three members and 500 euros for larger ones, spendable until November 30th.

Those who submit the application will be able to choose, as with the first tender, between two different delivery methods, the Soldo prepaid card and the Satispay app which both have offered the availability of their platforms at no cost to the Municipality.

The Soldo card can be used in all supermarkets and grocery stores that use the MasterCard circuit. Those who choose it will be contacted by the Municipality for collection. Alternatively, you can opt to use the Satispay smartphone application: in this case the beneficiary will be able to spend the voucher in the over 300 food outlets, supermarkets and small businesses that join the circuit, the list of which will be published on the Municipality's website , as well as being visible on the app itself.

The tender can count on 1,9 million euros coming mostly from the municipal Mutual Aid Fund opened for the Coronavirus emergency, which in part has already been used to implement the state resources (5,848 million) with which it was the first tender was opened thanks to which over 15.800 vouchers were financed.

“Despite the difficulties that also affect the municipal budget, the Council and Council have decided to add around 2 million euros to help families who are going through a difficult period - intervenes the councilor for social and housing policies Gabriele Rabaiotti -. What we have put in place in the hardest moment of the health emergency cannot continue in the same terms for long: public spending, mobilization of volunteers, activation of private resources are being reoriented towards more ordinary routes. Together with the deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo we are working to understand how to continue to pay attention to the issue of food aid for those families who will not be able to restart and get back into the game".

Requirements

Those who have already benefited from the shopping vouchers with the first call will not be able to request any further ones. Applications will be admitted (only one per household) from single-income families or those with no income, who live in rent or pay a mortgage for their first home, with availability in their current account not exceeding 5 thousand euros as of 31 March 2020, whose income family total (referring to 2018) is less than 20 thousand euros. Among the requests received, the presence of minor children or elderly people over 64 in the family unit will constitute priority reward criteria for the preparation of the ranking; the presence of people with disabilities; being self-employed or employees on redundancy pay; not being beneficiaries of citizenship income or other economic support from the Municipality; not being owners of other properties.
