Town Council. The 2019 Marra prize for the thesis on the algorithm for gender equality
Bertolé: “A work that combines great sensitivity towards a topic at the center of contemporary debate and IT research”
Milan, October 5 2020 – "Inclusion impact: algorithm and web platform for the quantitative evaluation of gender equality in a corporate context". It is the title of the thesis by Gianluigi Iobizzi, student of the Polytechnic of Milan, Master's degree in Computer science and engineering - Computer engineering, winner of the 2019 edition Marra prize.
Due to the health emergency, the award was collected this morning during a reduced ceremony, attended by the President of the City Council, Lamberto Bertolé, the members of the judging commission and Angelo Marra, brother of the President of the City Council Giovanni Marra, who passed away prematurely, to whose memory the award is dedicated. The initiative intends to enhance university theses or research that develop the theme of social responsibility in the public or private sector.
"Iobizzi's thesis - we read in the commission's motivations - is aimed at developing a web platform capable of supporting companies in the self-evaluation of their performance in the field of diversity and inclusion protection, in an interactive, continuous and participatory way (...). The thesis identifies and builds an innovative tool for measuring and evaluating the degree of inclusion within companies through the Inclusion impact index".
