Town Council. Activities closed during the total blockade, Aula launches 40% discount on the Tari

Milan, September 14 2020 – A 40% discount on the variable part of the TARI reserved for businesses closed during confinement. The measure was launched today by the City Council - 27 in favor and 5 against - and is aimed at 70% of the city's non-domestic users, including, for example, museums, libraries, nurseries, nursery schools, primary schools, secondary and second level institutions, but also cinemas and theatres, and then businesses, shops and public establishments, artisan activities, bars and restaurants etc.

Thanks to an amendment presented by the majority, and voted across the House, the measure also includes a cancellation of the Tarig (the tax on daily waste) for new occupations of public land intended for the terraces of bars and restaurants until the end of the year (as already foreseen for COSAP).

The total bill of the TARI, expected for 2020, is 298 million euros. Amount that decreased for the fourth consecutive year. A lower waste collection activity, the increase in the surface areas of the real estate units in 2020 compared to 2019 and the tax evasion recovery activity have allowed savings such as to partially provide for the recovery of the reliefs launched today by the City Council. The rest of the maneuver will be financed over the next three years, starting from 2021.
