Town Council. The annual housing offer plan has been approved

In 2020 there will be 2.550 homes available, 1.416 of which will be municipal. Of these, 40% will be reserved for poor families

Milan, January 16 2020 – With 24 votes in favour, the City Council approved the annual SAP offer plan, public housing services, already approved by the council in December.

Over the course of the year, 1.416 public housing units will be made available by the Municipality which, combined with the 1.134 owned by Aler, will bring the total public housing offer in Milan to 2.550. Of the portion of municipal property, 3% will be reserved for families who find themselves in conditions of poverty, i.e. with ISEE not exceeding 40 thousand euros, a percentage doubled compared to the resolution of the Council due to a council amendment voted only by the forces of majority. Another 10% will be dedicated to family members of the Police Force, while the Administration has also defined a third category of people of particular social importance to whom accommodation should be reserved as a priority: families leaving social protection and welfare structures ( such as parent/child communities, light residential and educational communities for minors coming from bodies with regional accreditation, Rst, tenants of accommodation affiliated with the Municipality for housing emergencies) or from detention facilities.

Finally, with the approval of another council amendment, the number of accommodations included in the Sat category, Transitional Housing Services, intended in particular for families who have been evicted or whose apartment has been foreclosed, with measures already carried out or in the process of being execution. In case of assignment, they will have to sign with the municipal offices an Accompanying Agreement for socio-economic autonomy and participation in the first useful Sap call. The contract for this type of accommodation can last a maximum of one year, renewable only once for another year.

Compared to previous years, the 2020 programming therefore highlights a notable increase in the availability of public housing, the result of the efforts put in place by the Administration to try to respond to public housing needs, both through an acceleration of property recovery works and with the implementation of the staff responsible for verifying the practices: during 2019, in fact, 1.637 accommodations were assigned (of which 739 Aler and 898 from the Municipality), in 2018 the figure remained at 1.187, in 2017 at 1.123 and in 2016 at 883.

In line with what is established by the regional law on the matter (16/2016), which also regulates the new criterion of SAP tenders, the Housing Offer Plan must from now on be prepared and presented by the Administration every year.
