Common. The removal of prohibited parking scooters and bicycles has begun

Milan, October 13 2020 – The new removal service starts tomorrow which will concern both scooters and bicycles, shared or owned, which are left illegally parked, obstructing the passage of pedestrians.

The service starts on an experimental basis and will be carried out starting from the Cerchia dei bastioni area and then extended to the entire city thanks to the help of the local police patrols that control the territory and which will request the truck for removal throughout the entire area. municipal territory.

“The spread of sharing scooters and bicycles shows attention and willingness to new and sustainable mobility and improves actions to protect the environment and people's health. At the same time, respect for the rules by everyone is fundamental – comment the deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo and the councilor for Mobility Marco Granelli –, even when it comes to parking. Scooters and bicycles must not become an obstacle or hindrance: we hope that the common sense of those who use them will prevail, in the meantime it is essential to activate this new service and verify its effectiveness".

In this first phase, particular attention will be paid to the prohibited stops that most constitute an obstacle or impediment, especially for pedestrians: on the pavement outside the designated spaces intended for bicycles; at slides or on car parks dedicated to people with disabilities; in a non-longitudinal direction to the roadway where there are pedestrian crossings and intersections; in front of driveways; on spaces intended for local public transport stops.

The ATM van can contain up to 16 scooters and bicycles and will carry out the service from Monday to Sunday (from 8am to 13pm and from 13pm to 30pm), it will be on duty together with a local police officer and the removed vehicles will be deposited for safekeeping at the ATM deposit in via Palizzi.
