Trade. More than 2,3 million euros from the Municipality to support companies affected by the M4 construction sites

Tajani: “In three years we have made available a total of around 9 million euros, contributing to the support of 275 companies”

Milan, November 3 2019 – This year too, the Municipality of Milan confirms its commitment to supporting local businesses and artisan activities affected by the presence of construction sites for the construction of the M4 line. The guidelines for defining the new tenders have been approved by the Council, which will give access to more than 2,3 million contributions to support companies located near the work areas.

“This year too we confirm the commitment, closeness and support of the Administration towards the commercial, artisanal or service activities affected by the presence of the M4 construction sites – explains the councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce Cristina Tajani –. In three years, through our eight tenders, over 270 businesses were able to access approximately 9 million in total contributions aimed at supporting normal management expenses as well as possible investments to improve the visibility of the activities through marketing and promotion actions useful to the future of businesses".

Three measures will be made available to companies by the Administration.
The first is represented by a partly current economic contribution aimed at the 78 companies judged to have a "very high impact" and located on the road fronts directly overlooking the construction sites which in 2019 suffered or are suffering the greatest inconvenience. For them, a maximum contribution of 10 thousand euros is foreseen to cover 80% of the total current expenditure incurred. At the same time, a contribution of up to 163 thousand euros is envisaged for the 3 companies judged to have "high impact". For both categories of businesses it will be possible to report expenses such as: rent, utilities, local taxes, mortgage/leasing instalments, personnel expenses etc., for a total of 820 thousand euros of funds made available.
The second measure, a capital contribution, is support for investments made to relaunch activities in view of the completion of works such as: renovation of premises, purchase of IT equipment, furnishings or systems. A measure aimed both at the companies at the front, recipients of the first intervention, as well as at the other companies that are located near the construction sites or that are located in intermediate areas between two construction sites/buildings within a maximum limit of 50 meters from the connecting road axis and which suffer an impact deriving from the proximity to the construction site and from changes in vehicular and pedestrian traffic. In this case the contribution will be a maximum of 10 thousand euros per single company. The provision provides for a total allocation of approximately 1,3 million euros.
A third measure is also envisaged, intended exclusively for the 78 entities judged to have a "very high impact": a contribution of 30 thousand euros, useful to support the transfer or opening of a new business location. As an alternative to the opening of new offices, a contribution of around 20 thousand euros is also envisaged for the purchase of a vehicle suitable for the sales activity in public areas in an itinerant form, as long as it has an electric motor or pedal assistance, in the wake of modern street food.

To date, there are 275 companies, along the entire stretch of the new M4, which in recent years have had access to 9 million euros in total contributions made available by the Administration through 8 tenders that have followed one another from 2016 to today.

In the next few weeks they will be available, on www.comune.milano.it in the notices and tenders section, all the information to access the contributions. The first to come out will be the call dedicated to support for current spending.
