ColorAid. The sixth edition returns with the chromatic redevelopment of the SAI center in via Gorlini

Tomorrow at 11am councilor Bertolé will visit the facility

Milan, March 16 2022 – ColorAid is back for its sixth edition, the ethical construction project that connects the world of construction and color with that of society and which every year provides a renovation and chromatic redevelopment to a reception facility.

This year the initiative is held at the SAI center in via Gorlini, a structure that is part of the Reception and Integration System of the Municipality of Milan and which welcomes women, mothers with children, families with international protection or political asylum seekers , followed by the Inclusion and Immigration Policies unit of the Municipality of Milan.

"ColorAid – declares the councilor for Welfare and Health Lamberto Bertolé who will visit the structure tomorrow at 11 – has now become a fixed appointment for Milan. An important demonstration of how solid and profitable the relationship between public and private is in this city in which the generosity of companies is placed at the service of solidarity and society, to improve the quality of life of those experiencing a difficult condition".

Colore & hobby and Radio colore – the main media outlets in the color sector – are the collectors and leaders of the initiative and involve companies in the paint world in the name of a common principle: solidarity. ColorAid starts, in fact, from the assumption that color can contribute to improving the psychological well-being of those who live in the structures covered by the project and intervenes by restructuring, repainting and beautifying them. The intervention in via Gorlini will be carried out until March 18, with the contribution of the students of the A. Volta scientific high school.

The structure to be redeveloped: the SAI Center in via Gorlini

It is located in the north-western outskirts of Milan. Guests are welcomed for a period ranging from approximately six months to two years, with the aim of helping them achieve progressive autonomy through the construction of a path of socio-economic integration.

In via Gorlini guests are supported in orientation towards professional training, in entering the world of work with training internships and in finding independent housing solutions, also thanks to the psychological support and linguistic-cultural mediation services active at the centre. Inside, in the common areas, children can play and learn Italian with their parents.
