Collaborations. The agreement has been signed between Milan and the JRC - Joint research center of the European Commission for the exchange of data and good practices

Milan, November 27 2019 – A collaboration agreement for the exchange of data and good practices was signed today in Ispra by the deputy mayor of Milan Anna Scavuzzo and the general director of the Joint research center of the European commission Charlina Vitcheva, so as to strengthen the actions of the Municipality and the institutions European institutions in specific research sectors: from food policy to scholastic and social integration, from smart mobility to digital transformation.

“A further step forward in collaboration with Europe – declares Deputy Mayor Scavuzzo – to enrich the exchange of data and good practices, monitor activities and verify the achievement of concrete objectives. We are convinced that having and evaluating scientific data can help us support effective, efficient, equitable and sustainable public policies. Great joint commitment also to evaluate the contribution that cities, Milan in particular, can make to the definition of the 2030 Agenda and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)".

The work of the JRC will be useful to the Municipality of Milan to design and implement innovative policies, while the study of the results obtained by the city will offer the JRC the opportunity to consolidate analyzes at a local urban level.

The letter of intent therefore refers specifically to the sharing of data, analyzes and recommendations (for example on the interaction between learning and diversity in schools and on social integration), on migration and demography, on food policy urban, on smart mobility, digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
