Milan, March 27 2023 – Great public success for "I need silence", the traveling event which made Alda Merini's poems and the music she loved resonate, in the splendid setting where the poet with her eclectic and disruptive personality rests.

Last Saturday, March 25, the Monumentale - in collaboration with the artists of the Cetec Spazio Alda Merini, the Library Area and the volunteer readers of the Milan Pact for Reading - gave life to an initiative of which was also sold out for the rerun, along the routes of the Cemetery, a neighborhood of the city of Milan that contains stories and memories of loved ones, in a constant dialogue of cultures, religions and origins.

Under the artistic direction of Donatella Massimilla (Cetec Spazio Alda Merini), the actress Gilberta Crispino and the musicians Luca Garlaschelli and Gianpietro Marazza performed, while the readers Giuseppe Caccamo, Federica Cecco, Maria gave voice to the splendid verses of the poetess of the canals. "It was an extraordinary event – ​​comments the councilor for civic and general services Gaia Romani – and the many people who participated prove it. I thank everyone who worked to create this truly beautiful occasion, with which we wanted to remember and pay homage to a woman who was able to describe our Milan with uniqueness and love. A journey into the soul of this great poet who is relived in her verses and through the notes of that music she adored so much.
