Major Cemetery. Camp 87, a monument to the memory of the victims of the pandemic

Milan, July 26 2021 – The commemoration ceremony for the victims of the Covid-87 pandemic was held this afternoon at Camp 19 of the Major Cemetery in the presence of Mayor Giuseppe Sala, councilor Roberta Cocco (Digital Transformation and Civic Services) and the families of the deceased.

The statue of an angel in Carrara marble was placed in front of Camp 87 together with an epigraph: "March 2020 - May 2020 - Those we love and have lost are no longer where they were, but are wherever we are - Agostino d 'Hippo'.  

The laying of a wreath and the performance of the "silence" by the ensemble of the Civic wind orchestra of the Municipality of Milan accompanied the moment of reflection.

In Camp 87 of the Major Cemetery rest 128 people who passed away between March 2020 and May 2020, during the first pandemic wave.
