Cemeteries. Baggio, new criteria from the Municipality to expand access to citizens of nearby neighborhoods

Milan, January 31 2023 — Starting tomorrow, Wednesday 1 February, the basin served by the Baggio cemetery will be expanded. Therefore, in a ten-year field and following a funeral, people who lived in a street included in the Local Identity Units (NIL) 55 and 87, which correspond respectively to the Baggio, Olmi, Valsesia and Assiano neighbourhoods, can be buried, after a funeral. interior of the Town Hall 7.

The new admission criteria for the deceased integrate and expand those established in February 2019, when the Administration had set a more stringent geographical limit according to which only those who, as their last residence, had lived in the streets belonging to the territory of the parishes of Sant'Apollinare or Sant'Anselmo da Baggio.

This increase in the basin - which concerns burial by inhumation and not burial in a columbarium (body) or in a cell following cremation - was made possible thanks to the availability of new cells, which in turn will satisfy the exhumations already scheduled for 2023.

With this new provision the Municipality, with a view to expanding the services aimed at citizens, extends the possibility of accessing burials using a more objective criterion, namely that linked to the territorial basin of the NILs, the Local Identity Units.
