Milan, March 11 2022 – Municipality 7 will also be able to count on the support of a Milan women's centre. The headquarters in Via Fleming 19 was inaugurated this afternoon by the Mayor Giuseppe Sala and the Delegate for Gender Equal Opportunities Elena Lattuada, with the vice-president of Municipality 7 Manuel Sciurba. Present at the ribbon cutting were councilors Alessia Cappello (Economic Development and Labor Policies) and Gaia Romani (Civic Services).

"The Milan Women's Centers are strategic social centers, because they are close, even physically, to the needs of the women of Milan and their families – stated the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala –. For this reason today is an important day: the inauguration of the Center in via Fleming not only allows us to reaffirm the centrality of the neighborhoods of our city, but above all highlights the fundamental role that women play in the growth of our community and society".

Places of training and information, of listening and help, of support at work, the Milan Centres 
women perform numerous functions, thanks to the opportunities for socialisation, meeting, sharing and participation that are offered to the women who turn to them and their families.

In the Milan Women's Center in Municipality 7, among others, economic and tax consultancy services, an anti-crisis desk, legal support on immigration matters, legal and psychological information for victims of discrimination and violence, parenting support, cultural promotion courses will be offered and training; a theater laboratory for young people and a co-working space open every day will be activated.

The management of the services is entrusted to the Synodal Commission for the diakonia of the Waldensian Church (CSD) - Inclusion Services Area, which won the tender launched by Municipality 7. In carrying out the activities, the CSD will make use of the collaboration of the Global thinking foundation (GTF ), ELSA OdV Association, Van Ghè Cultural Association - Art Clinic, Mums at school ONLUS and Fare x bene ETS.
 
"The Milan Women's Center in Via Fleming is destined to become an important point of reference for the women of the neighborhood, with particular attention to the issues of job search and professional orientation – declared the Mayor's Delegate for Gender Equal Opportunities Elena Lattuada – The mission of the CMDs is in fact to accommodate the needs of women and channel them in a positive way towards solutions that allow them to live their daily lives with serenity and satisfaction. And work is, without a doubt, the tool that more than everyone else is crucial in the path towards gender equality. I am sure that here the women of Milan will be able to find listening, support, useful information and opportunities for sharing and training suited to their personal, work and social needs".
