Milan, 29 April 2021 – The network of Milan women's centers is expanding with the new headquarters in Municipality 4, in via Oglio. In the presence of the Mayor's Delegate for Gender Equal Opportunities, Daria Colombo, and the president of Municipality 4, Paolo Guido Bassi, the Center dedicated to the needs of women and families was inaugurated today.

The Center will be managed by Telefono Donna, which was awarded the public tender launched by the Town Hall to find the manager of services, events and initiatives that will have the aim of promoting women's well-being, encouraging career orientation, support to mothers, advice of various kinds but also moments of socialization and free time with workshops, reading groups, training courses.

The first Milano Donna Center opened in May 2018 in Gallaratese, in via degli Appennini, followed, at the end of November of the same year, by the space in viale Faenza, in Barona. In November 2019, the Municipality Center 2 was inaugurated, located in via Sant'Uguzzone, and in July 2020 the one in via Narni, in the heart of the Crescenzago-Rizzoli district. Last February the space in Via Savoia, in Municipality 5, opened, and a few weeks ago the tender for the Milan Women's Center in Municipality 9, in Via Cirié, also ended.

"I am very happy because, despite the difficulties of the pandemic, we are now nearing the goal of opening a Center in every municipality – declares Daria Colombo, whose initiative was responsible for the birth of the Milan Women's Centers project –. This new opening is another important milestone. I am sure that, like the other Centers already operational, the one in Municipality 4 will also be able to be a social support in the area and a concrete point of reference for women, but also for children, adolescents and the elderly through women we help families and therefore society".
