Milan women's center. 50 computers were delivered today to the children of Municipality 6

Milan, 24 December 2020 – The project carried out by the office of the Delegate for Gender Equal Opportunities of the Municipality in collaboration with the Milan Women's Centers is called "Bring the laptop" to collect computers no longer used by citizens and companies and donate them to boys and girls who have them need for distance learning.

In particular, just today, the Milan Women's Center in Municipio 6 (viale Faenza), managed by Telefono Donna, distributed its first 50 computers to as many children who follow the after-school program organized within the same center throughout the year. Present at the delivery were the Mayor's delegate for gender equality Daria Colombo, the President of Municipality 6 Santo Minniti, Stefania Pesce and Davide Brevi, who followed the entire project for Recordati.

In fact, the latest donation came from the pharmaceutical company Recordati, which wanted to donate 250 computers to the associations that manage the Milan Women's Centers in the city (Telefono Donna and Paloma 2000): these are models equipped with video cameras, fully functional, refurbished and with the Windows 10 program already installed.

In recent months, the Milan Women's Center of Municipality 8 (via degli Appennini) had already donated 30 computers to the pupils of the school in via Val Lagarina, in Quarto Oggiaro, and another 21 PCs to the children of the Gallaratese neighbourhood, thanks also to the mediation of the "Programma QuBì - The recipe against child poverty”, promoted by the Cariplo Foundation; Furthermore, on December 28th another 28 computers will be delivered to the children of the Borsi comprehensive institute.

Finally, 10 of the donated computers will be used in turn in all the Milan Women's Centers for digital literacy courses aimed at women.
