Home. The Municipality supports the rents of families with children born or adopted in 2023

The contribution "Parents' Rent Support 2023" is the highest dedicated to the birth rate in Italy: 250 euros per month for 3 years for families with at least one member "under 35"

Milan, May 28 2023 – The Municipality of Milan has decided to allocate important support to help families, with at least one member under 35, who live in rented apartments and have had or adopted a child during 2023. It is now possible to request the contribution " Parents' Rent Support 2023".

The measure provides for the direct disbursement, to the owner of the rented accommodation, of a maximum overall economic contribution of 9 thousand euros, divided into three annuities (3 thousand euros per year), to partially cover the rental fees for those who have an ISEE equal to or less than 30 thousand euros.

The initiative has no deadline, the contributions will be assigned to the applications positively evaluated on the basis of the chronological order of receipt and until the available resources are exhausted, which are equal to 3.316.000 euros. 

“Thanks to this measure we will be able to offer concrete help to many families who live in Milan for rent. This is the highest contribution to the birth rate currently present in Italy – declares Pierfrancesco Maran, councilor for the House -. It is a way to support these families in the expenses and planning of the children's first years of life."

These are the requirements necessary to access the 2023 Parents' Rent Support contribution:

- having signed a rental contract on the free market (including the agreed rent) or in housing for enjoyment or in housing defined as Social Housing Services, pursuant to LR 16/2016, art. 1 paragraph 6;

- presence in the family unit of at least one member under 35 years of age;
- presence of a member born/adopted starting from 01/01/2023;
- ISEE of the household less than or equal to €30.000;
- not being in possession of adequate accommodation in the Lombardy Region;
- have no family relationship up to the third degree with the owner of the accommodation.

The request for contribution can be submitted by all households in possession of the required requirements to Milano Abitare, the accessible rental agency of the Municipality of Milan via PEC at the address ufficiogenitori23@pec.it or, by hand, at the offices in Villa Scheibler, in via Felice Orsini 21.
