Milan, November 22 2022 – Green light for the demolition and reconstruction project for the blocks of flats in Via dei Giaggioli 7/9/11 thanks to a 57 million euro plan promoted through the National Innovative Program for the Quality of Living (PINQUA) which will also allow improvements public spaces in the Giambellino district.

The municipal council has redetermined the overall expenditure of the project due to the general increase in costs due to the international crisis: the figure is equal to 57,5 million euros allocated with an increase of 9,5 million compared to what was expected in 2021.

The works involve the demolition and complete reconstruction of the three buildings with a general review of the layout of the apartments and the modification of the elevations to ensure correct landscape insertion of the buildings into the urban context. At the same time, an overall redevelopment of the public space adjacent to Via dei Giaggioli will be carried out with road, furniture and greenery interventions accessible to all citizens of the Giambellino district.

The total duration of the construction sites is expected to be approximately one thousand days, the final deadline for the delivery of the properties is 31 March 2026. The Municipality of Milan and MM have offered alternative accommodation in the area to tenants who will have to move for the period of the works.
