New Year's. The ordinance has been signed to guarantee the safety of citizens who will celebrate in the square

Milan, 30 December 2019 – The ordinance has been signed which establishes, on the occasion of the New Year's concert, the bans foreseen in the area of ​​Piazza Duomo and in the surrounding areas to guarantee the safety and tranquility of the citizens who will celebrate New Year's Eve in the square.

The device will come into force from 13pm on Tuesday 31st December until 3am on January XNUMXst and, in detail, provides for the ban on "introducing, depositing on the ground, holding, transporting, giving away or receiving bottles and containers of glass, cans, plastic bottles closed with caps, selfie sticks and stinging spray". The same prohibition also applies to fireworks, firecrackers, barrels or rockets.

Public establishments are allowed to sell drinks, after tapping or pouring, in paper and plastic containers. While the sale of drinks in glass or tin bottles remains prohibited. The consumption of glass drinks is only permitted inside public establishments for table orders.

As regards spirits, their sale and consumption outside public establishments and neighborhood establishments are prohibited. While consumption inside public establishments is permitted.

Finally, the ordinance prohibits the exercise of commerce in an itinerant form in public areas, including so-called street food.

The bans will be in force in the streets, and within a total radius of 200 metres, of Piazza Duomo (corner of Via Mazzini, corner of Via Mengoni, corner of Via San Raffaele), Via Cardinale Carlo Maria Martini corner of Palazzo Reale, Via Palazzo Reale corner of Pecorari, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II up to the Octagon, via Silvio Pellico at the corner of via Cattaneo, via Marconi at the corner of via Dogana, via Mercanti at the corner of via Mengoni and, finally, via Ugo Foscolo, via Orefici and via Torino at the corner with Piazza del Duomo.
