The relief intended for people with economic or mobility difficulties has been active since 10 May. The registration procedure has been simplifiedRequest travel vouchers for travel by taxi or rental with driver

Milan, May 20 2021 — Activated on May 10, the Taxi Bonus has already collected 1.810 registrations, while 1.420 trips have been made by users.

This is a benefit intended for people with economic or mobility difficulties which allows them to use the public car service for travel by taxi or rental with driver (NCC) with coverage of 50% of the amount of the journey up to a maximum of 20 euro.

Recently, the activation procedure has been simplified for citizens and taxi drivers who want to join: citizens must pre-register for the service through the platform,, release your personal data and self-certify your belonging to the categories benefiting from the benefit. They then receive an activation email and when they want to use the benefit it will be sufficient to show the health card or tax code number to the taxi driver.

Taxi drivers, on the other hand, must download the “BuoniviaggioMI” app on their mobile phones, developed by Telepass with the Municipality of Milan. When taking the discounted trip, they will be able to scan the Health Card or manually enter the tax code of the beneficiary citizen and, at the end of the trip, the cost of the trip. The system automatically calculates the amount borne by the citizen who will proceed with immediate payment, while the remaining part will be credited directly to the taxi driver by the Municipality of Milan.

To date, 2.790 taxi drivers have downloaded the app and around 900 of them have made at least one trip with the Bonus Taxi.

"We want citizens who are entitled to it - declares Marco Granelli, councilor for Mobility - to sign up for the Taxi Bonus and use this benefit which allows them to travel on public cars with a great economic advantage. We have simplified the procedure for citizens and taxi drivers in order to facilitate access and we see that the system developed by the Municipality's IT services and Telepass is working well".

The beneficiaries of the 2021 Taxi Bonus, as provided for by the Ministerial Decree, are citizens residing in Milan with reduced physical mobility, with confirmed pathologies, even temporary, even accompanied; people suffering from confirmed pathologies that make them more vulnerable and for whom exposure to contact with others is not recommended and people subject to life-saving therapies, as well as people belonging to families more exposed to the economic effects deriving from the epidemiological emergency (for example where one of the members carries out work activities belonging to ATECO codes subject to limitations on containing the spread of the virus).

Finally, all citizens in need, with an ISEE equal to or less than 28.000 euros and people who are unemployed or on redundancy pay.

The aims of the measure launched by the Municipality of Milan respond to the need to deal with the health emergency and the critical issues deriving from the increase in traffic in environmental terms and passenger congestion on public transport lines; they then allow us to support and enhance the use of an alternative form of transport to private vehicles, such as taxi and rental services with driver, which are particularly affected by the crisis caused by the Covid-19 emergency.
