Balance. The Municipality introduces the transfer of tax credit for the rental of its properties

Tasca: "An appropriate and right choice in favor of categories in difficulty". The measure valid for assets under direct management

Milan, May 21 2021 – Until June 15th it will be possible for tenants of properties managed directly by the Municipality to transfer their tax credit to the Administration as payment of rental or concession fees. This is a measure provided for by the so-called "Rental Bonus" included in the Government's Relaunch Decree which the Municipality of Milan adhered to to meet the financial needs of many tenants.

"This is an appropriate choice made by the Administration in favor of categories in difficulty – states the Councilor for Budget and State Property Roberto Tasca –. With the transfer of the tax credit we will have an additional measure of help which is added to the deferral and to the installment payments of the fees decided by the Council already in recent months. We have prepared the intervention, in coordination with the approval of the budget, to expand the tools to support those in difficulty".

The tenants of municipal properties (with the exception of those managed by MM or private individuals) will be able to agree with the Municipality the payment of 40% of the expected rent and the transfer of 60% of the tax credit. The request for credit transfer can refer to the 2020 monthly payments not yet paid with the exception of the months of January, February, August and September which, according to current legislation, cannot be proposed.

The timing of the intervention must allow the Municipality to be able to take advantage of the transferred credit, avoiding risks of damage to the treasury.
