Balance. Municipality of Milan does not participate in the automatic cancellation of tax bills
Milan, January 20 2023 - The Municipality of Milan does not adhere to the automatic cancellation of tax bills provided for in the State Budget Law for the financial year 2023. This was decided by the Council of Palazzo Marino.
For the municipal administration, "the amnesty measures similar to those introduced" by the latest budget law, we read in the resolution to be submitted for examination by the municipal council, "disincentivize virtuous behavior and conflict with the principle of fairness towards citizens, the vast majority of whom fulfill their contribution obligations to support public spending, both in terms of general taxation and from the point of view of non-tax revenues".
Those who owe the Municipality of Milan amounts of up to one thousand euros registered between 2000 and 2015, therefore, will not have the automatic cancellation of interest and penalties.
The Municipality of Milan will communicate its decision by January 31st to the National Collection Agent and will send it to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
