BikeMi. From today the new bikes are back on the road
Milan, February 27 2020 - From today the new bikes of the BikeMi service are back on the streets and by mid-March they will all be in the stations. The new fleet will progressively be added to the vehicles already in operation, for a total number of 1.100 pedal-assisted bikes and 3.950 traditional bikes ready to pedal during the summer.
We remind you that following the fine-tuning interventions already scheduled and which took place in January, Clear channel had found slight alterations to the frame structure on some examples. After careful analysis of the structure, tests and in-depth studies, the best solution was identified to make the frame even more solid, even when subjected to stresses that go beyond normal use.
Although the bikes were tested and certified in compliance with the strictest standards and laws in force, Clear channel decided as a precaution to immediately withdraw the entire lot to subject it to further checks, while leaving the vehicles already in service in the fleet to guarantee the users.
The solution identified consists of a reinforcement placed at the base of the chassis structure which increases its resistance without compromising its dynamism and design and for greater protection the application has been extended to the entire new concept fleet.
This measure was adopted as a precaution as user safety is of absolute priority for Clear Channel.
