Milan, May 23 2019 – The collaboration agreement between the Municipality of Milan, Municipality 99 and the Fate Largo association for the redevelopment, revitalization and care of Largo Balestra was signed today in the Seicentro municipal headquarters in via Savona 6/Piazza Berlinguer.
This is the first pact signed after the approval by the City Council of the "Regulation of common goods", last Monday 20 May.
Largo Balestra is a space of approximately 2.500 square meters on the side of via Giambellino, made up of a recently fenced green area, a car park and an adjacent square which have often been the subject of degradation.
Precisely this space is the heart of the "Fate Off - Green in Largo Balestra" project conceived by a network of entities united in the Fate Largo association, which won the 2017/2018 edition of the Participatory Budget for Municipality 6 and will see by 2020 the installation of street furniture for a total value of 200 thousand euros.

The project involves the preparation of a show and events area in the heart of the square and a play area dedicated to children and their families, to ensure constant attendance and safeguarding the green space. The experimentation of a bio-active vegetable garden is also planned as a pilot project intended for "gardeners" of all ages, active both in Municipality 6 and in other metropolitan areas.
The collaboration agreement signed today is in absolute continuity with the redevelopment proposed by the "Fate Largo" project and with the Neighborhood Plan, through the conception and development of cultural events and activities which from now on contribute to promoting the revitalization of the space and the construction of fundamental social ties for the protection of the territory and of the interventions currently being implemented and will continue following the implementation of the interventions envisaged by the redevelopment project awarded by the Participatory Budget.
Finally, the Fate Largo association has started a process of awareness and active participation with teachers and children from the nearby Scuola Rinascita, for a future collaboration in the care of the space.
