The sculpture, donated by Automobile Club Milano, will be placed in the homonymous Largo in Romolo

Milan, 23 December 2019 – The donation of a monument dedicated to the pilot and world champion Alberto Ascari has been approved.
The work, donated by the Automobile Club Milano, was created in concrete by the master Francesco Triglia and consists of an elliptical and ascending structure that alludes to a curve, on which a bronze bas-relief representing the car will be inserted with which Ascari won the Formula 1 world championship in 1952 and 1953, as well as two medallions depicting the portrait of Alberto Ascari and the logo of the Automobile Club Milano.
The Monument, which presents itself as a harmonious synthesis between architecture and sculpture, has a value of 23.500 euros and will be located in Largo Ascari, Romolo district.

“We welcome with particular satisfaction the homage to one of the greatest pilots of the twentieth century – declares the councilor for Urban Planning Pierfrancesco Maran -, who accomplished exceptional sporting feats for our country and to whom Milan has already dedicated the homonymous wide”.

The Automobile Club Milano undertakes to carry out ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the monument for ten years. The installation of the work has already received approval from the Superintendency, the Landscape Commission and Municipality 6.
