Street furniture. Trees, plants and a monumental bench donated to the Municipality
New furnishings and greenery from the Bulgarian Consulate and the Chamber of Fashion
Milan, October 13 2019 - Donations from private individuals to make the city more beautiful and green do not stop. The Administration accepted the gift, from the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Milan, of a monumental bench in honor of the Bulgarian poet Pencho Slaveykov, celebrating the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Italy.
The bench was created by the artist Adrian Novakov in steel and cast iron, while the figure of the poet who sits on it is in bronze. The maintenance of the work, which has a value of 15 thousand euros and will be positioned within the gardens of via Brolo/via del Verziere, will be the responsibility of the donor for twenty years.
Last week the Municipality received the donation from the National Chamber of Italian Fashion Association of some fruit trees and aromatic plants which constituted the "Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia 2019", an event of the Milan Fashion Week aimed at promoting the values of sustainability in the fashion field. The plants were deposited at the nursery of the Municipality of via Zubiani and will be relocated in the city during the next agronomic season, integrating redevelopment and greening interventions in parks, avenues and public gardens.
