The document approved in view of the tender for the management of the park over the next three years   
  
Milan, September 13 2020 – Dog training and dog care activities, custody and care of cats, cleaning of facilities and paths aimed at adopting animals.  
These are among the main requests contained in the guidelines approved by the Administration in preparation for the public tender for the management of the Rifugio Canile-Gattile Park of the Municipality of Milan for the next three years. 
 
Specifically, the document, drawn up in view of the expiry of the current contract (31 December 2020), provides that the candidates for the management of the facility in via Aquila will take care of the custody and care of the well-being of the hosted canine population, the creation of activities for the inclusion of new entries and the recovery and behavioral rehabilitation of dogs aimed at their adoption, the transport of animals to and from veterinary clinics, the care and cleaning of structures and common areas.  
 
For the pavilion reserved for cats, the managers will have to take care of all the custody and care activities of the hosted population, the inclusion of new entries and their adoption, the custody and cleaning of the structures and the purchase of food and litter for the animals present.  
Finally, the health management of the facility and all the veterinary services aimed at the health and psychological well-being of dogs and cats will be assigned to management, given over by the owner for serious reasons, seized or found wandering (following the observation period by the ATS ), awaiting adoption.  
  
For the awarding of services, for a total cost estimated at over two million euros (1.350.000 euros for the kennel, 432.000 euros for the cattery and 342.000 euros for the health services), we will proceed through a public tender above the threshold within the EU, through an open procedure, with the award criterion in favor of the most economically advantageous offer on the basis of the best value for money, attributing up to a maximum of 70 points for the qualitative element and up to a maximum of 30 points for the price element.  
Kennels and catteries may also be awarded to a single entity, while the Health Management must be entrusted to a third-party manager.  
  
On the basis of the experience gained from the inauguration of the structure to today, the need to provide in the management of the structure a close interconnection between the dog education activity and the care of the dogs hosted in the Park-Kennel is confirmed, with an increase in the hours dedicated to paths aimed at adoption, the primary purpose of the service.
