Milan, September 24 2019 – On the occasion of the Milan Pet Week, which will take place from 28 September to 5 October, Pets in the City will be held from 4 to 6 October at Fieramilanocity, the first fair dedicated to those who have animals, those who would like to own them or simply love them.

Organized by Value Fairs, under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and the Lombardy Region and in collaboration with Fiera Milano, Confcommercio Milan and the Order of Veterinary Doctors of the Province of Milan, the trade fair showcases accessories, services and experiences for well-being of "pets", companion animals and will involve the public in understanding the real needs of animals, through edutainment initiatives designed to help us improve the care of our friends at home and outside the home.

“In the stand of the Municipality of Milan – declares the councilor with responsibility for Policies for the protection and defense of animals Roberta Guaineri – there will be a sensorial cube which, thanks to virtual reality technology, will allow visitors to put themselves in the guise of a little fish in a neglected aquarium or a dog left inside a car. An important initiative to raise people's awareness of the real needs of our animal friends. Furthermore, at the stand, officials from the Animal Protection Office will provide lots of information on how to behave when you encounter a wild animal in the city, on the magnificent kennel-cat shelter park of the Municipality of Milan and on how to adopt its four-legged guests".

The event, organized without cages to give a strong signal, in addition to the choice to prohibit the sale of animals, will make available the best products for care, hygiene, nutrition, accessories, furniture, pets domestic cleaning and automotive and will be divided into thematic spaces to offer visitors a dynamic journey to discover all the proposals presented.

Among the exhibition areas, the one dedicated to pet food, the pet care & vet space with clinics, veterinarians, groomers and fur care solutions, the accessories area, the one dedicated to fashion, without forgetting the proposals for objects and furnishings to make our pet's habitat is truly comfortable.

There will also be an area dedicated to tourism and pet-friendly services where you can discover the best tourist locations where you can go on holiday with your pets.

THE SPECIAL AREAS
Cat House. A model of a cat-friendly house, where the cats will roam freely, observing curiously from the excellent lookout points. The experts present will illustrate the best solutions to make your home a comfortable and safe place for domestic felines.

The little ones will then be able to obtain the baby license of the expert animal friend, following a path developed for them by the Order of Veterinarians of the Province of Milan. Furthermore, the Old Farm will be at their disposal, where they will be guided to discover the correct approach towards dogs, donkeys and rabbits.

To take a leap into the world of fantasy, the famous characters from the TV series 44 Cats of Rainbow will be at the fair directly from the TV screens, entertaining children with their performances.

In the case of real problems, in the Pet space in the Magistrates Court two lawyers will be available for free advice on condominium issues, small accidents and what happens to pets in the event of marital separation. The fate of family pets is in fact one of the thorniest issues in the event of divorce.

Helping a pet when it gets hurt will be possible thanks to the Pet First Aid demonstrations, where veterinary experts will give important information on how to intervene to help our friend in difficulty.

And to make our dog a brave lifeguard, fun will be guaranteed at the Dog Pool with a guide for the first aquatic experiences of our trusted life and travel companions. After the dive, it will then be possible to do some grooming in the grooming area, because hair also wants its part.

In the fashion area, directly from the Milanese fashion shows, a real catwalk will allow the companies present to present their creations and visitors to be immortalized as Top Models.

The Biosphere is dedicated to the world of birds: by visiting it it will be possible to experience the sensation of being inside a clearing in the forest, surrounded by parrots. Ficus, philodendrons and lianas, real sounds and calls to envelop the meeting with a science communicator who will explain to adults and children. There will also be a virtual reality viewer at the installation to implement the experience of the environment with immersive and interactive games.

There will be no shortage of important moments for those who are most attentive to their pet's nutrition: at the fair, they will be able to find valuable advice in the pet food area thanks to expert veterinarians and nutritionists, but also discover recipes for pots and stoves, following the live cooking shows.

Then there is the large Pet Arena with a full program of events during the 3 days of the fair. Among the unmissable events for families and animal lovers, on Saturday and Sunday there will be the exhibition of the canine units of the Local Police of Milan. Dogs that from time to time become agents, investigators, work companions for our law enforcement agencies. In this space the finals of the games and activities held during the Milan Pet Week will be held as well as performances by industry experts such as Adrian Stoica, who will be able to involve the public, from the largest to the smallest, humans and animals, without distinction.
