Registry office. Newsstands, over 18 thousand certificates issued in three months

Starting from mid-May, today there are 61 "neighborhood desks" active for requesting documents and they will continue to increase. Cocco: "Alongside digital services, an increasingly widespread offer in all municipalities"

Milan, August 21 2020 – The service for issuing registry certificates offered by Milanese newsstands continues to grow, thanks to the agreement signed by the Municipality of Milan, Snag - Autonomous Provincial Newsagents Union, Si.Na.GI - National Newsagents Union of Italy and Confesercenti.

After the departure of the first fifteen newsstands last May 14th, today there are already 61 "neighborhood branches" available to citizens and the service will continue to expand in the coming weeks.

A collaboration that has already recorded important numbers: in just three months, in fact, 18.538 certificates were requested among those available, from the contextual (which brings together birth, residence, citizenship and existence in life), to marriage certificates, birth and residence up to family status.

“The offer is now increasingly widespread - comments the councilor for Digital Transformation and Civic Services, Roberta Cocco - and is available in all municipalities. The numbers demonstrate that the choice made is a winning one and other categories of merchants have already shown their interest. Newsstands are a very important physical presence which goes hand in hand with the possibility of independently downloading one's personal registry certificates both on the institutional portal and on the Citizen's File app, the new mobile application which has already exceeded 7 thousand downloads".

In July, 8.854 certificates were issued by newsstands (14,6%), 5.070 were requested at the counter (8,3%), 46.932 were downloaded online from the portal and the App (77,1%).

Newsstands can issue certificates: Contextual (Birth, Residence, Citizenship, Existence in life), Contextual AIRE, Contextual and family status, Citizenship, De facto cohabitation, Existence in life, Marriage, Death, Birth, Residence, Family status , Free State, Civil union, Certificate of cohabitation contract.

To find the nearest newsstand, simply consult the dedicated section on the site of the Municipality of Milan.

In addition to newsstands, other private entities can sign the agreement. Interested parties can submit a request for membership, preferably through the trade union, association or professional association that represents them, by replying to thepublic notice available on the portal of the Municipality of Milan.

They will have to ensure that each location has at least one operator present and the necessary IT equipment with set-up and supply costs borne by the manager. The staff will be trained by the Municipality of Milan and every operation carried out will be traced in detail.

The agreement will have a duration of five years but can be revoked at any time by both the manager and the municipal administration.
