Councilor Cocco: "Very important points of proximity in such a delicate moment. We hope for an increasingly widespread service". Agreement signed with the autonomous provincial newsagent union (SNAG)

Milan, May 14 2020 – Newsstands serving Milanese citizens for the issuing of registry certificates. Municipality of Milan and SNAG – have signed the agreement which enables newsagents to provide the service.

The fifteen Milanese newsagents have completed the training course and from today will be able to issue the certificates: Contextual (Birth, Residence, Citizenship, Existence in life), Contextual AIRE, Contextual and family status, Citizenship, De facto cohabitation, Existence in life, Marriage, Death, Birth, Residence, Family Status, Free Status, Civil Union, Certificate of Cohabitation Contract.

“Today we are inaugurating the first 'neighbourhood branches', very important proximity points especially in such a delicate moment and I hope that they constitute an example to follow to extend the service in a widespread manner in all municipalities – commented the councilor for Digital Transformation and Civic services Roberta Cocco - . They will complement the digital service available on the institutional portal within the citizen's file, which in these months of emergency have set a new record: approximately 80% of the registry certificates issued in the months of March and April were requested online" .

The certificates can be requested at the newsstands in: piazza Ventiquattro Maggio 2, piazza Firenze, viale Umbria 109, piazza S. Stefano, piazza San Nazaro in Brolo, via Monte Rosa 69, via S. Rita da Cascia, 35, via Pecorari/Rastrelli, largo E. Tortora, via Plinio/Morgagni, piazzale Baracca 10, via De Nicola, 8/10, via Pellegrino Rossi, 90, via Mecenate 2, viale Montenero/Bergamo.

In addition to newsstands, other private entities will be able to sign the agreement such as tobacconists, CAFs - as already experimented in other municipalities - or public entities (for example the investee companies of the Municipality of Milan which have physical branches in the area, such as ATM and MM).

Interested parties may submit a request for membership, preferably through the trade union, association or professional association that represents them, by replying to thepublic notice available on the portal of the Municipality of Milan.

They will have to ensure that each location has at least one operator present and the necessary IT equipment with set-up and supply costs borne by the manager. The staff will be trained by the Municipality of Milan and every operation carried out will be traced in detail.

The agreement will have a duration of five years but can be revoked at any time by both the manager and the municipal administration.
