The expected expenditure for the extraordinary services of the staff of the managements and municipal areas involved in the preparation of all the activities connected to the electoral consultation amounts to approximately 4,6 million euros: Citizen services area (among the activities carried out: purchase of the necessary tools for the functioning of the sections, sending postcards to Italians abroad, printing and delivery of electoral cards to new voters, appointment of scrutineers and management of renunciations and substitutions, support for polling station presidents via call center at the Electoral Office, guarantee of the extraordinary opening of the counters to the public on the Saturdays and Sundays preceding and coinciding with the voting days, purchase of PPE and polling station sanitisation services), Local Police (engaged, for example, in territorial control activities also on the occasion of electoral propaganda activities, escorting the transport of material to the voting locations, monitoring the polling stations and municipal structures involved in electoral activities), Information Systems and Digital Agenda Directorate (it will have to guarantee the necessary telematic connections in all the locations involved in the electoral consultation and will take care of the dissemination of data in the Press Room set up in Palazzo Marino), Facility Management Area (transport and transfer of material to the polling stations and related setup, transport of the ballots at the end of the voting and counting and their transfer to the Court, Prefecture and Electoral Office), supervision, with municipal staff, of the headquarters buildings seat on the day of consultation). For the porterage and document management activity, an estimated expense of approximately 833 thousand euros is expected, while 118 thousand euros will be used for the rental of cars and shuttles, extraordinary and urgent cleaning services of school buildings and municipal offices and the purchase of any other material additional necessary. 

The information campaign "We are Europeans and Let's Vote in Milan" also started in recent days, created as part of the European APProach project, financed by the European Community.  
The initiative aims to inform European citizens residing in Milan on the possibility of exercising the right to vote in the next local elections by submitting an application to register on the electoral lists to the Mayor within 40 days of the electoral consultation.
