Milan, 2 December 2021 – Improve the awareness and sense of civil and criminal responsibility of those who own a "special" dog as well as promoting greater knowledge of the rules that educate towards pleasant coexistence between dogs and dogs and between dogs and people in the complex urban environment. After the pilot experiences of the courses managed directly by the Municipality of Milan between 2020 and the spring of this year, the collaboration between ATS Veterinaria and the municipal administration now allows the launch of free distance learning courses (FAD) which will start from next December 15th, to obtain the license for owners of special dogs as required by article 8 of the Regulation for the welfare and protection of animals of the Municipality of Milan 

"Fundamental courses to increase practical, theoretical and management knowledge, as well as the sense of responsibility that invests the owners of these particular dog breeds. Lessons that help owners to better understand the needs and behaviors of their four-legged friend, preparing owners to react promptly and effectively to all those situations that can arise when their dog confronts other animals or people in any urban context - explains the Councilor for the Environment and Green, Elena Grandi -. useful tool to make owners fully aware of the commitment required and above all it is necessary to avoid the many abandonments at kennels that affect this particular type of dog".   

To encourage and facilitate participation, the courses are online and conceived as real tutorials that can be used at any time from any device (PC, tablet and smartphone) for a total commitment of 10 hours at the end of which the exam for the issue of the certificate is taken. patent. The course will be available for 60 days from December 15th to February 15th. The proposed modules of the course, taught by highly experienced teachers and veterinarians, explore the most varied areas of the relationship with your quadruped.

The course is mandatory for owners of dogs who have been responsible for injuries to animals and people, subject to an Ordinance by the ATS, as well as for all owners of dogs belonging to the breeds included in the Municipal Regulation: American bulldog, Anatolian Shepherd, Charplanina Shepherd, Central Asian Shepherd, Caucasian Shepherd, Maremma Abruzzo Shepherd, Serra da Estreilla Dog, Dogo Argentino, Fila brazileiro, Perro da canapo majoero, Perro da presa Canario, Perro da presa Mallorquin, Pit bull or Pit bull Terrier, Pit bull mastiff, Rafeiro do alentejo, Rottweiler, Rhodesian ridgeback, Tosa inu, American Staffordshire, Bandog and large molossoids, Bull terrier, Boerboel, Cane Corso, Czechoslovakian wolf, Saarloos wolfdog, Dog Italian wolf and all crossbreeds deriving from the above-mentioned breeds.
