Milan, September 10 2021 – The McDonald's initiative "Days with you for the environment" was held today in Milan, sponsored by the Municipality of Milan. An initiative created by McDonald's in collaboration with FISE Assoambiente and Utilitalia, which aims to combat the phenomenon of littering, the abandonment of waste in the environment, which increasingly affects our cities. The employees of the McDonald's Italia offices, together with Amsa, collected the abandoned waste in the Antonio Annarumma Park, located between via Beltrami and via Lucerna.

The phenomenon of littering is an increasingly large problem which today creates inconveniences both in terms of urban decorum and in terms of environmental pollution. Throwing waste on the ground means releasing an object into the environment that will remain there for 3 months, if made of paper, to a century, if made of plastic; important timing if you consider that in Italy uncollected plastic reaches 500.000 tonnes every year.

This special day is just one of the stages of the McDonald's project which will touch 100 municipalities throughout Italy by the end of October: the company's employees will be involved on the front line to help keep parks, streets, beaches and squares clean, according to the specific needs and indications of each locality in a virtuous path that aims to be a concrete support to the local communities in which the company is present and active.
