Environment. Sunday 2 February from 10am to 18pm car circulation ban in Milan

Milan, January 29 2020 - On Sunday 2 February, from 10 am to 18 pm, a ban on the circulation of all vehicles will be in force in Milan.

The ordinance signed by the mayor Giuseppe Sala applies to the entire territory of the Municipality of Milan. 

To allow those arriving from outside the city to leave their private vehicles and use local public transport, which will be strengthened, the interchange car parks located near the peripheral public transport stations (Cascina Gobba, Forlanini, San Donato 1 and 2, Bisceglie, Lampugnano, Molino Dorino and San Leonardo, Famagosta, and also the road section of via Ripamonti between the Municipality of Opera and via Gagini in correspondence with the tram terminus, and the road section between Cascine Guascona and Guasconcina and the terminus of the local public transport line in via Jemolo).

Furthermore, to facilitate access to the parking areas at the 'Meazza' stadium, starting from 12 pm, the following road sections will be excluded from the block: via Sant'Elia - in the stretch between via Natta and Diomede; via Diomede - in the stretch between via Sant'Elia and via Caprilli; via Natta; via Montale - in the stretch between via Natta and Ippodromo; via Patroclo - in the stretch between via Ippodromo and Achille; via Achille; viale Caprilli; sports square; via degli Aldobrandini; via Palatino; via Rospigliosi; Axum Square; Harar Street; via Tesio; via Novara - in the stretch between the junction with the Western ring road and via Harar.

To ensure compliance with the ordinance, there will be approximately 70 local police patrols operating in the area per shift, both in fixed locations and on the move. The staff on duty at the operations center will be increased.
