Grandi: "We want to support the most fragile families at a time of indiscriminate increases in gas costs, relieving them partly of the cost of maintaining the systems." The deadline for submitting applications expires on March 22nd

Milan, January 23 2022 – The Municipality of Milan is increasingly attentive to improving the energy efficiency of civil heating systems and to supporting the most vulnerable citizens even when it comes to home safety and health protection. The call for applications which distributes non-repayable contributions, for a total of 22 euros, to support the maintenance costs of boilers and independent heating systems in Milanese homes is open until March 600.000nd.

Two more months therefore to access the two types of support provided by the tender: the first, expressly dedicated to regularly registered and maintained systems, allows you to obtain a bonus to cover maintenance costs for an amount of up to 85% of the expenditure incurred up to to a maximum of 110 euros. The second, aimed at systems not regularly registered or maintained, allows you to request free maintenance by technicians identified by the Administration.

"In this particular moment of difficulty, characterized by an indiscriminate increase in energy bills which is affecting many citizens and families - explains Environment Councilor Elena Grandi -, we considered it important, as an Administration, to lift up the most fragile subjects at least from the cost of ordinary maintenance, in the belief that investing in your home means actively contributing to the reduction of polluting dust emissions. A way to do your part for a better quality of the air we breathe. The call for contributions – concludes the councilor – is in line with the broader objective, pursued by the Municipality with the approval of the Air and Climate Plan, of reducing the concentrations of particulate matter and nitrogen oxides in order to contain them within the limits set by European legislation, align them with the indications of the World Health Organization and contribute to the fight against energy poverty".

According to data collected by ARPA, emissions from boilers used for private heating are responsible for approximately 18% of total nitrogen oxide emissions into the air.

Specifically, all residents in the city for at least two years and in possession of an ISEE less than or equal to 9.360 euros and who live in homes in which there is an autonomous high-power heating system can access the provision of contributions and maintenance interventions. less than 35kW with gas power.

The two types of support are differentiated and cannot be cumulated. In fact, during the guided compilation of the online application, applicants will be directed towards one of the two options available in reference to the maintenance status of the plant in question.

All information for accessing contributions can be consulted directly on the Municipality of Milan website.
