Milan, March 23 2022 – 'Cyberpunk Parrot', the "smog-eating" mural, created as part of the creative contest of the educational project "1, 2, 3... breathe!", is born in the Cesare Pagani play area in Dergano.

"The Municipality – comments Elena Grandi, Councilor for the Environment and Green Space – has recently approved the Air and Climate Plan, a tool to protect health and the environment, aimed at reducing air pollution and tackling the climate emergency through the reduction of CO2 emissions by up to 45% by 2030. A concrete response to improve the well-being of those who live in our city. Today we are here in Dergano and this is an example of how the restart can also involve the redevelopment of spaces 'made for kids', with a new element of street furniture that expresses aesthetic attention and environmental sensitivity. We are very happy to give citizens a mural like this which will remind us, passing through here, how fundamental collaboration between the Administration, businesses and individual citizens to create together a Milan that is increasingly attentive to air quality and the environment".

The mural was created by Alessandro Breveglieri, a young street artist who deconstructed the portrait of a parrot by interspersing it with a gas mask, taking inspiration from the subjects chosen by the winning class of the "1,2,3... Breathe!" contest. which involved the students of the Carol Wojtyla middle school in Bosisio Parini (Lecco).

The students represented nature in the symbolic encounter with man-generated pollution, creating a dystopian image, inviting us to reflect on the "threat to the beauty of our future".

The mural was painted with Solarya 65, the innovative self-cleaning and anti-pollution siloxane coating for exteriors from Boero's Painting Natural line, paints with low dirt retention with excellent self-cleaning properties also capable of purifying the air with which they come into contact, transforming up to 65% of the harmful gases present into substances with low or no polluting impact.

The "1, 2, 3… breathe!" project sponsored by the Municipality of Milan and created by Liquigas, it aims to encourage the development of environmental awareness and create opportunities for involvement and discussion between young generations and all components of society: teachers, families and institutions. In line with the objectives of its strategic plan, Liquigas managed to train 100 thousand boys and girls on the topics of pollution and available energy sources in just 3 years.

"Liquigas is a player in energy solutions with low environmental impact and this is our role to build a more sustainable future but our commitment is aimed at encouraging closer collaboration with highly committed institutions, such as that of the Municipality of Milan, to the good of all communities", declared Andrea Arzà, CEO of Liquigas, present at the inauguration of the mural.
