Milan, May 14 2019 – Around five hundred thousand visitors in three days in the city, four hundred thousand more passengers than a normal weekend between Saturday and Sunday on ATM public transport, 250 thousand on the Trenord network; over ninety thousand Alpine troops in parade from 9am to 21pm on Sunday.

Record numbers forNational rally of the Alpini, held in Milan from 10 to 12 May. During the three days of the event, over seven hundred buses were welcomed in the car parks managed by the Organizing Committee and around nine thousand places were placed in the collective accommodation set up in various green areas and car parks, at the Fabbrica del Vapore, in the pavilions of Fiera Milano, in the former Porta railway yards Romana and Farini and in the Montello and XXIV Maggio barracks. One hundred and fifty thousand visitors to the Alpine Citadel of Parco Sempione.

Ninety-eight events animated by 181 groups including Alpine choirs and fanfares, in addition to the historic concert of the ANA Choir of Milan at the Teatro alla Scala.

The participation, reception and organization of the three days also involved staff and resources from the Municipality and the participating companies, as well as from the other institutions involved.

In particular on the security front, under the coordination of the Prefecture, there were around a thousand women and men of the police forces employed by the Milan Police Headquarters on Sunday 12 May, including the State Police, Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza and Penitentiary police.

Almost three hundred local police officers were on duty on Friday and Saturday and eight hundred were employed on Sunday, 520 operators from the local civil protection system and 651 volunteers from the National Alpine Association who donated their time together with the volunteer ecological guards of the Common.

Over two thousand hours were worked by the 320 AMSA employees, who collected sixty tons of waste between Friday and Sunday.

Significant data also on the media front: four hundred journalists were accredited in the press room hosted by Municipality 1 at the Arengario, in addition to the live Rai TV broadcasts (798.000 viewers, 8,89% share) and the main online newspapers, there were sixty thousand live views streaming on the ANA YouTube channel and over ten thousand Instagram posts.
