Environment. The thermal season starts tomorrow

The appeal of councilor Elena Grandi: "Mild climate, postponing turning on the radiators is a gesture of environmental responsibility"

Milan, October 14 2021 — The thermal season will open tomorrow, Friday 15 October, which until 15 April 2022 will allow the heating systems of homes, offices and shops to be turned on for up to a maximum of 14 hours a day.

"The climate is still mild - declares the Councilor for the Environment Elena Grandi - and it is important, where possible and as long as the temperatures allow it, to postpone turning on the radiators or in any case mitigate the degree of heat in the systems. I ask citizens a gesture of environmental responsibility. We are now all aware of the impact that heating buildings has on levels of air pollution and CO emissions2 and for this reason we are called to make conscious choices even in the home and work environments".

As required by current regulations, please note that the operation of the heating system must be set to guarantee a temperature in the homes of 20°C with a tolerance of 2°C more or less (18/22°C).

The Municipality of Milan makes it available Energy Desk, who can be contacted via email or telephone to obtain information and advice.
